Why does my floor show some shrinkage/cracks?This frequently occurs in the winter months when heating systems dry homes, it is usually self correcting with the humidity of summer. It is most apparent when white pigment is used for stain.
Is it possible to have a dust free environment?
A dust free environment is impossible. However if there is debris in the finish normal foot traffic should naturally buff this out.
How should I clean my hardwood floor?
The maintenance on a floor is to use a lightly damp mop. We recommend "Woodwise" or Vinegar and water (1 cup vinegar to one gallon warm water). Do not use ANY oils, soaps, etc.
How often do you recommend re-coating?
We recommend re-coating your floor every 1 1/2 - 2 years.
How long should I wait until I walk on my floor once it is completed?
We do not recommend foot traffic for 24 hours after completion, and only light use for 3 weeks.
Are there non-toxic finishing systems available?
Yes, we can offer them upon request.
How long will a refinish take?
A complete refinish will take 3 to 4 days and recoat one day. The amount of time could vary depending on the size and if there are any other important factors.
Can I be there when you finish my floor?
Swedish finish is not to be applied where pregnancy is involved. Children under 12 years of age, persons with respiratory problems are not to be present prior to all odors having dissipated.
